I grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick, called
Dalhousie. Dalhousie is a beautiful town right on the ocean. My family still lives there. The community gave me my roots. A tight knit community, that really cares for you. My father still finds it difficult to come visit me in Ottawa and not have everyone greet you as you walk down the street.
I left Dalhousie when I was 18, to come to the University of Ottawa. I go back on occasion to visit friends, family, and the ocean. Despite leaving Dalhousie, Dalhousie has never left me. Since my diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, people from my hometown have been amazingly supportive. Not only have they supported me, but they have been very supportive of my parents, who also had a lot to deal with in regards to my multiple sclerosis.
I would like to thank everyone for their words of encouragement and warm embrace.
Also, so many people have dropped off donations for our team.
A big thank you to:
Syd Scott, Cheryl and John Johnson, Jean Hicks, Gary MacLean, Irvine Johnston, Noella Russell, Margot and Glen Hamilton, Mom's Tuesday Morning Crafters, Alice Parent, Yvonne parent, John Nolan, Leonard and Bev Parent, Betty Danks, Lloyd Parent, Uncle Wayne, Claire Knight, Betty MacCurdy, Fred and Rose Howe, Elsie Boyce, Gwen Mazeralle, Rita Ferguson, Penny Pollock, Anna Lee Barristo, Uncle Bruce, Grammie, and Ruth Dunn.
Thank you Dalhousie (and surrounding area!)
